Since 2025, the John Paul II Vatican Foundation has been co‑organizing two mountain projects for students connected with the teaching of the Polish Pope. The first is the annual Integration and Academic Camp, organized together with Teologia Polityczna and the Tertio Millennio Institute. This multi‑day event takes place every September. Several dozen students from across Poland gather in Majerczykówka near Poronin (the Tatra Mountains). Each day begins with the Eucharist, followed by mountain hikes lasting until the afternoon. In the evenings, lectures are delivered by distinguished intellectuals who analyze contemporary challenges in the light of John Paul II’s teaching.
This year’s edition will take place from 16 to 26 September. We wrote about last year’s camp here.
The second project is a series of shorter expeditions entitled “Mountains with Wojtyła”, organized together with Teologia Polityczna. A group of several students embarks on a four‑day trek in the Tatra Mountains, accompanied by a lecturer who guides them in enriching both spirit and intellect through the beauty of nature and conversations on a selected theme from the teaching of Saint John Paul II. These expeditions take place quarterly.
During the most recent “Mountains with Wojtyła” in August 2026, the students were accompanied by Bishop Prof. Jacek Grzybowski. In July 2025, the lecturer was Rev. Dr. Tomasz Podlewski, Director of the Media and Events Office of our Foundation.
