On Friday, 19 June 2026, the Center for Documentation and Research of the Pontificate of John Paul II in Rome, run by the John Paul II Vatican Foundation, hosted a team of conservators from the Ossoliński National Institute in Wrocław. The study visit of Ossolineum experts offered an opportunity for exchanging experience, substantive discussion, and—above all—for strengthening the competencies of our Center’s staff in caring for valuable collections.
Earlier, between 30 April and 31 May 2026, the exhibition “Before Pan Tadeusz Became an Epic” was held at the Pan Tadeusz Museum in Wrocław, managed by the Ossolineum. Our Pontificate Center had the honor of co‑creating the exhibition by lending one of its exceptionally precious artifacts. Among the objects displayed in Wrocław, visitors could admire an authentic fragment of Adam Mickiewicz’s manuscript draft of Pan Tadeusz, which is normally kept under our care in Rome. The opening of the exhibition in Wrocław was attended by the Center’s director, Fr. Mirosław Cichoń, PhD.
